Audio Studio Guide — How to Use the Extension
Complete guide for Audio Studio. Learn how to pin the extension, activate audio boost, use the six-tab interface, quick presets, and equalizer.
1. Pinning the Extension Icon
To keep Audio Studio easily accessible, click the puzzle icon (Extensions menu) in the Chrome toolbar, find Audio Studio in the list, and click the pin icon. The Audio Studio icon will remain permanently visible on your toolbar for one-click access.
2. Activating Audio Boost
Navigate to any tab currently playing audio (YouTube, Netflix, Spotify, or any web player). Click the pinned Audio Studio icon in your browser toolbar to open the popup. Click the power button to activate boost on that tab. Audio Studio immediately attaches to the stream and applies your audio profile.
3. Unified Six-Tab Interface
Audio Studio features a unified popup interface with six dedicated tabs:
• Quick (Main): Master volume boost slider, power toggle, and four instant presets. • Equalizer (EQ): Full 31-band graphic equalizer for precise frequency tuning. • Effects (FX): Stereo widener, bass boost module, and dynamics compressor. • Mixer: Overview of all tabs playing audio with independent volume controls. • Library: Factory presets and custom presets saved for quick recall. • Settings: Theme selection, language preferences, and extension options.
4. The Four Quick Presets
From the Quick tab, you can instantly apply four calibrated presets with a single click:
• Bass Boost: Amplifies low frequencies for deep, resonant bass. • Dialogue: Enhances mid frequencies and speech intelligibility in videos, tutorials, and podcasts. • Cinema: Balances broad dynamic range and expands spatial separation for movies. • Late Night: Compresses peak volumes to keep dialogue clear without disturbing others.
5. 31-Band Equalizer
31 bands, 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Per-band gain from -12 to +12 dB. Switch to the Equalizer tab to fine-tune individual frequency bands. Adjust sliders directly or use quick band selectors to balance bass, midrange, and treble to match your headphones or speakers.
6. Automatic Site Activation
When you frequently listen on specific websites, turn on automatic activation. Audio Studio will remember that domain, prompt for site access once, and automatically restore your preferred volume and equalizer profile every time you return.
7. Multi-Tab Mixer
The Mixer tab displays every tab in your browser that is currently outputting sound. You can adjust the volume of background music, mute noisy ad tabs, or boost video calls independently without switching away from your current tab.
8. Troubleshooting Common Issues
• No effect on sound: Ensure audio is actively playing and the power button in the popup is active. If Chrome displays a user gesture warning, click the toolbar icon while on the tab to authorize audio capture. • Audio distortion or clipping: Reduce the boost level towards 100% or pull down boosted EQ sliders. The limiter prevents digital clipping, but hardware speakers can distort when pushed beyond physical limits. • Boost drops after page reload: Enable automatic site activation so the extension reconnects seamlessly across page reloads. • Protected streams: When prompted for media element permissions, grant access so the audio bridge can capture media securely.
